第二次世界大戰末期，日本募集8,000多名台灣少年志願前往日本製造戰鬥飛機，他們經歷了戰時、戰後的人生起落，本片呈現東亞之間互相牽動的歷史，並訴說平民百姓在混亂的年代為了求生存，卻又為時代的改變而翻弄的命運。
