Festival Ambassador and Program of Global Chinese Films & Videos

Actor Joseph CHANG will be the ambassador for the 8th Taipei Film Festival. Having just returned from the compulsory service, CHANG is now working on the film Eternal Summer. The TFF will hold a special event, providing audiences the best opportunity to take the very first look at the film. Now the first mission of our ambassador is to campaign for Festival ticket sales at SPOT – Taipei Film House on this coming Saturday.
The program for Global Chinese Films & Videos is also announced today. Just a glimpse - Sylvia CHANG and Collin CHOU’s American Fusion, Little Red Flowers and Dam Street from mainland and gay-themed Cut Sleeve Boys and Innocent, plus other shorts from around the world, all made by Chinese. Furthermore, six local productions will be premiered, each representing the indie power of the city.

The Global Chinese Films & Videos session has been running for three consecutive years. It provides a platform to the Chinese films and videos to gain world attention. This is a major reason why the Festival earns a special mention in Screen International, a prominent film magazine, being one of the world industry’s leading festivals.
Also featured in the session are three films from Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan from the project FOCUS: First Cuts. The project is funded by Hong Kong artist Andy LAU for new directors to shoot their feature film on High Definition (HD) technology. The directors and the producers will attend the seminar on 5-July-2006 to discuss co-productions and funding opportunities for new directors.

Ticket sales for 8th Taipei Film Festival will begin from 27-May-2006. Film Pass of limited number is open for sale. Each Pass is NTD2000 and holder can view four screenings each day during the Festival. For ticket sales details and updates on the festival, please call 02-3322-1623.
