The highly-anticipated winners of Taipei Grand Award and Taipei Image Award were announced yesterday. This year’s Taipei Grand Award was selected by the 7-member jury, including Lao Chia-hua, Hu Tai-li, Alan I. Tuan, Chen Kun-hou, Ann Hui, Dai Jin-hua and Wei Ti, whereas the Taipei Image Award were chosen by Lin Jing-jie, Hou chi-jan and Hao Yu-hsiang. ....More

Cold Showers Tops the International New Talent Competition

The 1 Million-dollar Grand Prize winner of the Taipei Film Festival was announced today. After one week of intensive screenings, the jury of the International New Talent Competition, which consists of five world-class directors: Hou Hsiao-hsien, Jean-Marc Vallée, director of the opening film C.R.A.Z.Y., Laurent Cantet (Heading South) from France, Zhang Yuan (Little Red Flowers) from mainland and Hong Kong’s Pang Ho-cheung (Isabella) held a meeting to decide the winner, and the award ceremony was held on July 1st in ZhongShan Hall. ....More

Do Over World Premiere

Do Over was well received in its world premiere on 25 June evening at Chungshan Hall. This piece is the only Taiwanese production in International New Talents Award and showcases the performance of up-and-coming actors and actresses. Director Cheng Yu-Chieh has a bunch of hardcore fans since his short Summer Dream and Do Over was naturally much anticipated – not only by the fans but also the cast who only had the chance to see the final cut of the film in Chungshan Hall.....More
